Jumbuck actually started back in 2001 as a joke that Jared and some of his close friends at that time started to make fun of the rediculous fashion trends. One day Jared was reading the paper and came across the fashion section and saw a really unhealthy looking model wearing the most rediculous dress he had ever seen. What made it even worse was that this dress cost over $1,000.00! The idea of terrible clothing at such a high price was very humerous to Jared and his friends, and before long they were going into the attic, finding old clothes, cutting them up and making catalogs with rediculous prices.
Were the idea for a business took off was a couple years later when people started actually liking these outfits! By this point Jared's main focus was T-shirts, and the response was incredible. At this point Jared did not have a means or funds to get any professional T-shirts done so he would go to Wal-Mart and buy iron on paper, make a design on the computer, and iron it onto a T-shirt himself.
At this point Jumbuck was still really a hobby, something that Jared spent maybe 1 or 2 hours a week doing and only went back to it every couple of months. Really just when someone wanted a special T-shirt.
In highschool Jumbuck kind of died down as Jared got really busy with football, basketball, choir, and photography. However, just a few years later though in college, the vision of Jumbuck came back. Jared never stopped drawing or making new art and he had been doing designs for local bands and youth groups. In 2008 Jared took a Macroeconomics class in which one of the projects was to make a business plan for an original business and present in a competition. At first, Jared thought this would be too great of a time commitment, but that weekend he could think of nothing else! After a lot of thought and prayer Jared commited to making a detailed business plan to Jumbuck Attire. And in that process, Jumbuck Attire was born!
